About the job

Whether you're on a consumer product (like Gmail, Search, Maps, Chrome, Android) or a business product (Google Ads, AdSense, Google Marketing Platform, Analytics), you take part in a complete marketing experience as you lead every facet of the product's journey. From determining positioning, naming, competitive analysis, feature prioritization and external communications, you help shape the representation of the product and help it grow a consumer base. This means you work with a cross-functional team across Sales, corporate communications, legal, webmasters, product development, engineering and more. In this role, you'll be involved with product marketing strategy from beginning to end.

Product Marketing plays a critical role in Google Maps Platform’s strategy to provide the best location based services for developers and businesses. As Product Marketing Manager you will partner with product, UX, and Developer Relations teams to shape the product strategy, goals, and positioning for Google Maps Platform. You will be responsible for partnering on audience and market research, creating developer narratives and positioning, crafting and launching adoption and engagement strategies, collaborating on developer channels, events, and more.

You’re a curious learner, keen to not only market these services but to learn how to become a basic user or developer. You are a problem solver who can diagnose complex technical and business challenges and find solutions. You can prioritize, manage, and drive multiple high-impact projects to completion. You will also communicate effectively to internal and external audiences.

Know the user. Know the magic. Connect the two. At its core, marketing at Google starts with technology and ends with the user, bringing both together in unconventional ways. Our job is to demonstrate how Google's products solve the world's problems--from the everyday to the epic, from the mundane to the monumental. And we approach marketing in a way that only Google can--changing the game, redefining the medium, making the user the priority, and ultimately, letting the technology speak for itself.

Responsibilities

  • Learn and become an expert on the developer and translate these learnings and insights into messaging, developer narratives, external communications, and asset production.
  • Own completion of product launches and landings and be responsible for success goals in collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Partner with Product, Marketing, Partnerships, and Engineering to build content and product narratives for existing tent-pole moments. Develop industry moments to advocate our point of view for our developer audience.
  • Ensure the developer value is present in all relevant marketing activities across Google Maps Platform.
  • Identify, develop, and/or manage the creation of a variety of content types (e.g., written, demos, presentations, etc.)
