3 ways to manage burnout and prevent it as a seller. 1. Focus on a purpose bigger than yourself. When you focus only on chasing your quota and on yourself, sales becomes really challenging and the pressure cranks up, which after awhile means the quality of your work will degrade. Focus on who you are helping. How you are helping others. The problems you help others solve to get to a better place. When you only focus on yourself, it makes things hard 2. Take breaks Build in an admin day to start or finish each month. Take a day off and get outside or do something you enjoy. In sales we work REALLY hard, in order to sustain performance you've gotta pause, recharge and take breaks. It may be 5-10 minutes between calls and a longer break to recharge at the end of a month/quarter/year. Peak performance comes from resting and recharging, not continuous grind. 3. Use my GREAT Day framework. Gratitude to help you appreciate where you are right now, small wins are great Read - listen - learn daily - stimulate your mind to keep growing Exercise daily - it can be 1 minute of stretching and moving your body or an intense 60 minutes, just move Action plan - focus on your top 1-3 activities for the day. Get them done early. Time for you - Hydrate, eat a healthy breakfast, meditate, get sunlight, go walk outside, call a friend or loved one, listen to your favorite song. Find whatever it is that charges your batteries These 3 areas are great ways to build more sustainable performance in sales. It is a roller coaster, it is stressful going back to zero whether you performed great or not. Create systems that enable you to know you're putting in the right work to overachieve and you can reduce the stress of the role.
