As someone thinking of transitioning from marketing to product management, what are some hard skills you'd recommend learning ahead of applying/interviewing? (Bachelor's degree was in business/communication)

    Find a way to get hands on with the product or domain of the product that you'd like to enter. In software PM, of course that's AI right now, but you could also lean into data analytics. Don't be satisfied to learn the buzzwords to fill up a resumé, but take courses that walk you through getting your hands on the product.     This is a great path! We do see strong PMs start in product marketing because you already know customers, messaging, the market, and GTM.     Coming from a Marketing background, you’ve probably got customer focus and communications down pat – those are very important parts of the Product Management "package".
