While I know you're looking for course recommendations, I genuinely believe that nothing can teach you more about AI than doing. While you can watch YouTube videos and listen to podcasts, being willing to dive into a tool like ChatGPT is the best way to quickly grasp AI and stay ahead of the curve. I'd suggest creating a challenge for yourself: open ChatGPT in your browser every morning and make it a point to try to use it for at least one task a day. This could be anything from writing an email ...Read More

There's currently a ton (too much?) information and training available to help PMMs stay ahead of the curve with AI. As for certifications, I don't believe there's an authoritative AI cert (like, say, CISSP for cyber-security) that validates expertise. I'm sure there or all sorts of degree and non-degree programs, but my recommendation is to dig in on the following resources (fyi - some of these are more vendor/platform-specific than others): https://academy.openai.com/ https://www.anthropic.com ...Read More

There's a bunch out there but I've found the following most helpful:

    1. Sharebird community, which is full of great insights & learings :)

    2. Coursera AI for marketing

    3. Udemy AI in marketing

    4. Prompt engineering: there's a lot of them out there with different price points; I'd recommend starting with some of the free online tutorials before investing in a deeper dive curriculum (you'll be surprised how much you can do with just a few best practices)

Doing real things will help a lot more than a certificate (plus a lot more fun). Start becoming a power user of an AI tool. It doesn't even have to be directly related to PMM.

Vibecode an app with Claude Code or Cursor, try to get AI to create writing that sounds like you, generate images that satisfy you just a bit more than quickly-generated images. Or combine all of this together to build and market a side project: you'll learn more about AI tools and the craft of iterating to go from 0 to 1.

Jon's resource list is a solid starting point. I'd add a different framing for how to think about AI development for PMMs specifically. Certifications will not get you to competence here. Building things will. The fastest way I've seen PMMs develop real AI judgment is to run their own experiments with a clear hypothesis and a clear failure criterion. Not "I will try using AI for competitive research." Something more specific: "I will use Claude to cluster win/loss transcripts for the next five d ...Read More
