Don't believe the "experts". NO ONE knows the answer to this question with confidence). All that said, here are my hot takes:AI will have an impact on your career as a Demand Generation professional in the medium term. How? -Automation of your routine tasks: AMEN. This is a great thing and will allow us all to spend more time focused on more interesting creative and strategic problem solving. -Enhanced Data Analysis: Again, this is rad. Imagine you have your own, personal data scientist to help ...Read More

ha! I know everyone is afraid of AI taking over their jobs, but I don't see it that way, I think it will help in many ways. However, I do think you will need solid AI literacy for your job and its a good thing!AI doesn’t rival demand generation but it will change how the role works. AI is great at speeding up execution things like drafting content, summarizing reports, or generating campaign ideas. But demand gen isn’t just about producing assets. It’s about strategy, understanding buying behavi ...Read More

AI will complement Demand Generation. AI is only as bright as you train it to be, so smart marketers need to choose the right dimensions and factors for AI to leverage. Tools will only get you so far, but ultimately, without humans to spot-check efforts, you will see AI learn and optimize for the wrong things and then provide a poor customer experience.  I’m excited about AI’s future in Demand Generation. I believe that if you create strong foundational elements like taxonomy, reporting infrastr ...Read More

Do I view AI as a rival to DG? No. Do I view AI as a teammate and accelerator to DG? Yes. In my world today, I am building regional demand gen teams to serve our international markets. AI can help with creating skeleton campaign plans based on internal templates and documentation at Atlassian. AI can help with providing starting points for email or ad copy, but AI doesn't have the context on the Sales team's growth, customer sentiment in region, the anecdotes behind open or closed opportunities ...Read More

Absolutely not - AI enhances, not replaces, Demand Generation. It’s helping us work smarter by uncovering insights we couldn’t access before, accelerating data analysis, and improving efficiency across every stage of the funnel. AI-powered tools are transforming how we target, personalize, and optimize campaigns; enabling marketers to focus more on strategy, creativity, and customer experience. Instead of replacing the human element, AI amplifies it by freeing us from manual tasks so we can focu ...Read More

I hear this a lot, especially as of lately. I think only time will tell how much of AI will truly take over a marketers job, but seeing as I've worked directly for two major AI players in the tech space, I've yet to see anything come close to competing. AI certainly has it place, especially around reducing the resources needed to write copy, spin up creative elements, etc., but I don't think it will ever replace our ability to understand our customers' needs and develop and end-to-end demand gen ...Read More

I do not see AI replacing demand gen leadership. I see it raising the performance bar. AI will automate more execution work: creative variations segmentation ideas email and ad drafts reporting summaries faster analysis cycles That is the good news. It gives demand gen leaders more time for strategy and cross-functional execution. What AI cannot fully replace is: strategic prioritization across competing goals judgment under uncertainty relationship-based alignment with sales and executive teams ...Read More
