How do you work with product to come up with the name for a given feature? What research do you do outside of trying to validate the name on customer interviews?

    Alignment with product teams is essential to ensuring capabilities and features and positioned correctly. We leverage for following sources to derive potential names for new features and functions: sales, customers, outside agency, and our brand team. Additionally, we research out competition to better understand how our new features compare.

    I have a love/hate relationship with naming because there are always so many opinions, but I've found that established principles, good old brainstorming, and competitive research are things that help. Establish principles: Naming can be fun and creative, but it can also go in a million different ways unless there are established guidelines.
